Massage is a simple, non-intrusive therapy which restores, rehabilitates and revitalises your body and mind. Anyone of any age, in any condition can use and benefit from Massage Therapy.

My style of Massage is a combination of Remedial, Sports and Therapeutic Massage techniques that I have learned and adapted over the last 25 years as a Massage Therapist.

I tailor my treatment to the specific requirements of my client. I use Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release techniques and incorporate stretches into your Massage sessions when required.

I graduated from Nature Care College in Sydney in 1998 with Diploma's in Remedial Massage and Sports Therapies. While in Sydney I provided massage therapy within Osteo & Chiropractic clinics aswell as at a Yoga and Natural Therapy Centre. On returning to NZ, I massaged at Tory Urban Retreat in Wgtn and then at the Clinic of Oriental Medicine in Porirua. I completed a Dip. in Pregnancy Massage in 2009 and I also have a Cert. in Reiki 2. I now base my massage business from home in Titahi Bay.

More info Remedial massage is defined as the “systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management”.

I use a combination of techniques including Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial release to encourage the body to return to normal health after injury. I believe in working towards the cause of the pain not the symptoms, so looking at the body as a whole.

More info The main goal of Swedish massage is to relax the whole body. On top of the beneficial effects of relaxation, Swedish massage is very beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

The massage techniques I use are similar to that of Remedial massage with more focus on making you extremely relaxed with a lot of long flowing strokes, circular pressure and gentle stretches using hands, palms and forearms. View less

Massage during your pregnancy can relieve the physical discomforts often experienced such as an aching lower back, neck pain, leg stiffness and general fatigue. On an emotional level, a massage during your pregnancy can give you that time to totally relax and connect with your baby.

From around the 2nd trimester I will get you in a side-lying position on the table with pillows/bolsters to make you completely comfortable. I use a flowing swedish massage style incorporating shiatsu throughout the massage. I like to incorporate belly massage into the treatment but if this is something you are not comfortable with just let me know.

Before initiating massage, consult your obstetrician or midwife especially if you have a high-risk pregnancy.
